Security Concern - Avoid this property - Suspicious Positive: Nothing. I was unable to stay at this property as the check-in process felt unsafe and non-compliant with standard online security practices. Negative: Major Red Flags - Host requests credit card photos via external links Total lack of safety and transparency. This host uses an external service (host-me.ca) to gatekeep access codes and requires guests to upload actual PICTURES of their physical credit card for a security deposit. This is a massive security risk and something I have never encountered in years of travel. When I raised concerns about this and Booking.com's own safety warnings, the host suggested I cancel my reservation and rebook via Airbnb—a clear attempt to bypass platform protections. To make matters worse, the host refused to answer phone calls from me or from Booking.com customer service. Booking.com’s support was unfortunately not helpful in resolving the standoff. For my own safety and financial security, I did not stay and have had to file a chargeback and a report with my bank's anti-fraud department. Please be extremely cautious with this host.
