Rodent, Hygiene, and Mismanaged Property – Avoid!
Positive: I stayed at Elegant Plateau Retreat on Saint-Denis in September 2025, and this was one of the worst rental experiences I’ve ever had. On the third day of my five-night stay, I found a mouse in the apartment and had to check out early. The apartment was filthy, with stained sheets and pillows, a sticky bathroom curtain, dusty shelves, cobwebs, bird feathers under the couch, and a strong mould smell in the bathroom. Even the ceiling lamp had “CLEAN ME” written in dust from a previous guest. I documented everything with photos.
The host and management team are disorganized and unhelpful. You are not dealing with a single host, there is a management company that clearly doesn’t coordinate internally. On my first evening, the apartment door’s automatic lock malfunctioned, and they didn’t know the brand or model, leaving me 1.5 hours with useless instructions. Weeks before arrival, I completed pre-check-in, but on the day of arrival, they claimed it was incomplete and forced me to redo it while traveling with luggage. I also had to give camera access to a program for identity verification. Despite complying, I never received confirmation that access was revoked, leaving my camera and photos exposed.
When I reported the mouse, the host claimed it was “seasonal and normal”, which is an absurd excuse for rodents in a rented apartment. Initially, they refused to refund the cleaning fee and sent an incomplete refund for the unused nights. I even offered to send my photos to help them decide, but they said it wasn’t necessary. The only refund I eventually received was partial, far below what I was owed.
Negative: After checking out, I had to spend 22 days constantly messaging both the management and Booking.com separately, because the management kept passing the issue back to Booking.com, and Booking.com passed it back to them. No one took ownership or offered real support. In the end, Booking.com told me that the host decided how much refund they would give, and there was nothing they could do. If you think Booking.com will protect you in a situation like this, they will not.
Communication was slow, inconsistent, and dismissive throughout.
For the price you pay, you can find far better apartments. Do not stay here if you value hygiene, safety, or being treated respectfully.

Très bien en général, malgré quelques frustrations au début (par manque de chance certainement!)
Positive: Ça n'a pas été très fluide. L'adresse communiquée initialement n'était pas la bonne, et donc les codes d'accès ne correspondaient pas. Il y a 30-40 minutes d'allers-retours via Booking pour finalement avoir les bonnes infos.
Negative: Le wifi n'a pas fonctionné la première journée, ce qui a été un problème et nous a contraint à faire un peu de roaming. Mais l'équipe a rapidement trouvé une solution.

Great location
Positive: Great location. The Plateau is where the good restaurants are located. And away from tourist area. Easy subway to old town.
